10 fold II

Kick-off for the 10 fold II project –  the successful comic strip inspired by the life stories of our learners ….

At present, there are not enough teaching resources for adults in social and vocational integration that deal specifically with the situations they encounter. Adult learners are more engaged when learning materials speak directly to them. This is precisely the issue that the #Erasmus+ 10fold II project is tackling.

In 2022, the European partners produced a comic book containing the life stories of migrant women. In the second part of the project (2023-2024), the aim is to strengthen the skills of trainers by creating teaching material based on the comic strip (classroom and online activities) in which the target group of learners feels represented.

The outcomes also aim to foster resilience and social participation among learners, using authentic texts as a basis for discussion on pressing issues such as discrimination in everyday life, racism, social exclusion and gender discrimination.

The material will be designed for teaching French, German and English – language level A1 – B1 (CEFR).For more info, you can go to the project website: https://www.blickwinkel-comics.at/10fold/

The INTERMOVE team is back

The Erasmus+ INTERMOVE+ project seeks to address the needs associated with Erasmus mobility during learning. Challenges can include language barriers, economic barriers, interculturality and, in this day and age, issues concerning the environment and young people’s mental health, so preparing learners for their Erasmus+ mobility is a crucial aspect. Especially as the number of Erasmus beneficiaries continues to grow. Over 10 million people will benefit from Erasmus+ mobility between 2021 and 2027, and INTERMOVE+’s response is to develop a training program to prepare young people for their mobility in Europe.

This training is carried out online on an easy-to-access platform. Thanks to this virtual learning environment, autonomous training sessions and sessions with an online trainer, as well as innovative pedagogical approaches, young learners will be able to develop their transversal skills in the following six areas:

1 – Media literacy

2- Emotional intelligence

3 – Entrepreneurship

4 – Eco-responsibility

5 – Interculturality

6 – Multilingual communication.

Make It Happen II

Translator

In this new edition, the Make It Happen II project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, aims to offer innovative solutions to promote mobility opportunities among VET learners with disabilities (in sheltered and mainstream environments).

Dates: 02/11/2022 – 01/11/2024

Expected resutls:

Firstly, the partners will select inspiring and innovative practices on a European scale. It will identify projects and/or tools to be integrated into the methodology that the partners will carry out in the following phase.

This methodology aims at enhancing the skills of mobility advisors and accompanying staff (during the mobilities of learners with disabilities), thus promoting inclusive mobilities. The methodology will be evaluated by the partners who will organise mobility of VET learners in order to assess the contents and tools produced. Ultimately, it will be available on a digital platform.

Thirdly, the project aims to develop a European network of actors willing to welcome learners with disabilities, economic actors, social actors and vocational education institutions. To this end, the partners will design a set of communication tools (video, flyers…) aimed at promoting mobility opportunities for learners with disabilities and disseminating the results of the project through multiplier events bringing educational, economic and social actors together.

Equalling 2 – equality in diversity: broadening horizons

Translator

Cap Ulysse is embarking on a new adventure with European partners. An Erasmus + adventure for universal inclusion in adult education. The project is called Equalling 2 or equality in diversity: broadening horizons.

Universal inclusion?  This concept implies that trainers and teachers in adult education know how to adapt their contents to any public (with disabilities and/or learning difficulties linked to their life history).

In 30 months of work we want to create and make available to adult education professionals:

– a guide with explanations and tips for universal inclusion. This work will be coordinated by our Croatian partner URIHO. An inclusive company in Croatia with 76 years of experience and 464 employees, 59% of whom are disabled

– an online activity bank and training methods. This activity bank will contain, among other things, life stories of people who may be discriminated against. The stories will be didactized for use in the classroom. This result will be coordinated by CPIA2 Italy, our Italian partner – a training center for adults with 7 schools and about 2000 students.

-Then we will create Edupills on YouTube that will allow to easily understand concepts such as intersectionality, transculturality and universal inclusion. CPEPA Cella will coordinate this work. A training center for adults in Cella / Spain for people who live in rural, remote areas.

– The last result will be an online training of 30 hours with several modules for teachers and professionals of adult education. The goal of this training is to work on our postures towards – and how to deal with – audiences with disabilities and/or learning disabilities. The content will be partly composed of methods and activities developed during the project.  This work will be coordinated by the centro de profesorado de teruel / Spain and our training center, Cap Ulysse.

The last partner involved in the project, Orientexpress in Vienna, Austria, will be in charge of a preliminary study of all the results including scientific articles on the concepts used (intersectionality, universal inclusion in adult education etc.) and a report from each country on the current state of the curricula of adult educators on the topic of intersectionality. This report will include scientific articles on the concepts used (intersectionality, universal inclusion in adult education, etc.) and a report from each country on the current state of the curricula of adult educators on the issue of universal inclusion and the educational relationship that allows for the teaching of the person and of groups, in an ethical approach, by promoting the participation and mobilization of all learners.

We are starting our work and are looking forward to present you the results, but also to have your feedback and expertise!

10fold. Stories against discrimination

The project 10fold. Stories against discriminations, coordinated by the Austrian association Orient Express and in collaboration with Blickwinkel, aims to creatively link learning fields with the themes of equality and inclusion through creativity and art.

Hence, by December 2022, a website and a Comic Zine will be produced, containing the experiences and testimonies shared by our ten protagonists. They will be available for basic education and language courses. Through this publication, topics such as discrimination, prejudice, stereotypes and inequality will be made accessible to as many people as possible.

These publications are a means to share their stories and to make their voices heard. Eventually, through this project we hope to create conversations around the experiences migrant women, of all ages, who arrived in Bordeaux and Vienna in the past years have been through.

Funded by Erasmus+, the project perfectly fits the established priorities of:

  • Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport
  • Improving the availability of high quality learning opportunities for adults
  • Improving the competences of educators and other adult education staff

Project activities :

To achieve our results, Cap Ulysse in collaboration with Orient Express, will conduct individual and/or group interviews with 10 protagonists. These 10 stories will then be compiled by our partner Blickwinkel to create the Comic Zine which will be released in December 2022. A promotional event will be organised in both Bordeaux and Vienna.

Throughout the project, transnational meetings between European partners are planned, as well as events to promote the project, both in Vienna and in Bordeaux.

Online kick off meeting on January 12 with our Austrian partners Orient Express and Blickwinkel

The results are available on the project website and in a Google Drive folder to be downloaded.
